Kate Hinkley RAW Dip MSMA
Kate is currently on leave.
I was inspired to train as a Sports Therapist 12 years ago after suffering from a chronic condition, which was helped by my now colleagues at Southcote. Having been in pain for 2 years, the staff at Southcote made such a difference to the comfort of my life, that a year later, I decided to change my career and retrain as a Sports Therapist.
I trained at Raworth College in Dorking, and in 2005 I started work at Southcote and am proud to say I have been there for a great 10 years.
I am qualified in Swedish Massage, Sports & Remedial Massage, and I also teach baby massage.
In 2012, I was lucky to be given the opportunity to work in Professional Motorsport as a Sports Therapist, working for a British Touring Car Team and a GT team.
This past year has seen me working for 3 teams and I certainly now have the 'racing bug. I've been lucky enough to travel with the team and a highlight for me has been working at the prestigious Spa 24-hour race, in Belgium for the last 2 years. I am lucky that this is weekend work and I am able to continue my diary at Southcote.
I love the fact my job is so diverse and it's the best job satisfaction to be able to help people, just like Southcote helped me all those years ago.
